Are you doing surveys on an engine or APU that require you to stabilize the engine at several power settings to take data at each point?  Are you burning lots of fuel doing it?  How would you like to reduce the time and fuel required by up to 80%?  Well, now you can.

The VIPER 4040 analyzer has the capability to do transient surveys.  With this type of survey you input a vibration and a reference speed signal, usually from a tachometer output.  For surveys that require you to take data at 10% increments, for instance, you need only start the engine and accelerate it from idle to max power, without stopping, to collect the same information.  The VIPER collects data at an incredible rate so you might do the acceleration in as little as thirty seconds, then decelerate back to idle and shut down the engine.  The data is collected and stored in the analyzer's memory.  You may then review the survey and use the cursor to check the amplitude at any speed you wish for the full acceleration range.  There is no need to stop at numerous points because the speed of the VIPER collects the same data, with even greater accuracy, as it passes each of the defined speeds.

Don’t believe it?  Call someone here at ACES Systems and ask for a demonstration.  We invite you to use your current system and compare the data results and the difference in the time and fuel required to do the survey.  We think you’ll find that the VIPER pays for itself in fuel cost alone in a very short time.  APUs to large high bypass turbofan engines, the results are accurate, fast, and unaffected by the rising cost of jet fuel.
