When our 20-year old propeller
balancing equipment became uneconomical to repair, we began evaluating several modern
balancers as a replacement. We selected the ACES Systems' Model 2020 ProBalancer Analyzer
due primarily to ease of operation and reasonable cost. We were immediately impressed not
only with the simplicity and economy of the unit but also the precision. As an FBO
maintaining large numbers of turboprop aircraft, we consider balancing equipment a
necessity. We consistently produce results below 0.05 IPS with props set at cruise
configurations and engines operating in excess of 500 HP. Operators notice the
improvement.
Another
big plus, in this day of detailed record keeping, is the permanent printout of run data
and balance weight location that this unit generates when attached to a serial printer.
