10x10.gif (821 bytes) The Model 520 Vane Angle Indication System is designed to measure the inlet guide vane angle on General Electric's CF-34 Engines. The Model 520 can be used standalone or with one of the ACES Systems'  1700 series of analyzers to form an integrated system.

The Model 520 operates on 60Hz 110V power, and incorporates all the power conversion and signal conditioning circuits required to measure vane angles for either a one- or a two-channel configuration. The Model 520 provides accurate readings to 0.18 degrees nominal with a maximum angular error of 0.27 degrees.

When used as a standalone unit, the Model 520 provides a digital readout of both vane angles on a local LCD display. These angles may be used with the GE Maintenance Manual to perform any required adjustments.

When used with an ACES Systems' 1700 series analyzer and a custom procedure card, the complete system provides step-by-step instructions that guide the user through the full process of adjusting and verifying the proper vane angle adjustments. Additionally, the system guides the user through the process of making the necessary adjustments to perform N2 speed matching between both engines.
