The Model 1752B JEDA (Jet
Engine Data Acquisition Module) is an engine performance module specially designed to
operate with the ACES Systems' 1700 Series Analyzers and Honeywell's MEDRA software
package. The integrated 1752B package includes hardware module, EMS software, and cabling. The JEDA, combined with a 1700 Series Analyzer and MEDRA software, forms a complete interactive test system for performing vibration surveys, fan balancing, and engine performance testing of all TFE731 engine, whether N1/N2 EEC/DEEC controlled. Collecting data with the JEDA gives you a precise, repeatable method of measuring engine efficiency and performance. The data is accurate because it is computed in averages rather than from a single point in time. The JEDA collects averages of temperatures, pressures, and speeds from the engine and transfers the data to a personal computer. Engine performance and efficiency can be immediately plotted using the MEDRA software package. Because the JEDA's measurements are accurate the first time, data scatter problems are eliminated, dramatically reducing the need for reruns. And, the JEDA system saves labor because it permits one person to safely conduct a performance test. The 1752B package include EMS (Enhanced Maintenance Software) that places N1 control in N2 control mode to ensure a stable performance run. EMS monitors N1 to detect wind gusts and discard extreme data. In addition, EMS monitors data trends during stabilization to determine when an engine is stabilized, shortening run time and conserving fuel. Similarly, EMS monitors data quality during acquisition, determining when maximum accuracy is reached to enable shorter run time and fuel consumption.
